Risky play in early childhood education and care settings: A scoping review

I am so happy to share the news that we have published a scoping review of all research on risky play in early childhood education and care settings. You can find the article open access here: https://bera-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/rev3.70210

  1. Dear Professor Sandseter,

Hello, I am Hyung Woo Kim, a researcher with Korea Consumer Agency in South Korea.

Accidents often occur where children hang on portable soccer goals, causing them to tip over and leading to severe injuries or fatalities. (The same accidents has happen in Korea, also.)

While EU and the US have established safety standards for portable soccer goals, South Korea currently lacks such institutional safeguards.

To submit policy recommendations for regulatory improvements, I am conducting a risk assessment study on portable soccer goals.

A crucial component of this research involves obtaining a reference value for the probability that a child present near a soccer goal will engage in the behavior of hanging from the crossbar.

I have searched for relevant literature and data on this specific parameter, but have not yet been able to find applicable references. Could you recommend any resources or literature that might help estimate this probability?
Even if it does not match this exact scenario, any literature or data regarding the probability of general hanging behaviors would be of great help to me.

Alternatively, I would deeply appreciate any insights or advice you might share on this matter.

Thank you very much for your reading this message.

    Sincerely,

    Hyung Woo Kim
